How and when to mount the new tags onto your CC Containers

  1. How to tag your CC Containers will be published on this website closer to the cut off date.

  2. Identify which CC Containers to tag – you must only place the new RFID tag on original CC Containers with the metal plate on. If you have containers without the CC metal plate, please contact your local CC office!

  3. Leave the old tag/padlock on the CC Container. Place the new RFID tag – barcode facing outwards - on the metal hook to the right of the old tag.

  4. Press together until you hear a “click”.

  5. NOTE! Tag your CC Containers as close to the cut off date on January 10, 2011 as possible. Read more about when to tag them.

How to identify a genuine CC Container?

- A genuine CC Container has both the original metal plate and must from January 10, 2011 be equipped with a new RFID tag.

- The tags must have the genuine RFID chip built in. This can only be checked with an RFID scanner.

- The tags must “look right” (have the right shape and colour). The design can be seen on this website from early December, 2010.

At all CC depots and many big exporters, auction halls etc, CC Containers and the RFID tags will always be checked, and will be refused if they are not genuine.

After Janaury 10, 2011, your CC Containers will only be accepted in the CC Pool System if they have the new genuine RFID tag.

Check your contracts

It is very important that you make sure that the amount of CC Containers in your contracts corresponds to your actual amount of CC Containers. After January 10, 2011, only CC Containers with the new RFID tags will be accepted in the CC Pool System.

Please note that if you have more CC Containers than the amount you have under contract, you will not be able to use the excess and therefore untagged amount of CC Containers after January 10, 2011.

Please contact your local CC office to amend your contract now!

Complete your details below and press submit, we will then check your CC Containers and contact you to advise you further.
